The big get bigger: Dentons to enter Central America with local tie-up
Dentons announced today (16 November) that it will merge with Costa Rica-based Muñoz Global to become the second major law firm with a Central American presence. If approved by partners of both firms by the end of the year, this will give Dentons a presence in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama.

Fieldfisher latest to boost Chinese presence with JS Partners tie–up
Fieldfisher has announced a tie-up with Chinese boutique firm JS Partners. The merger is effective today (15 November) and will operate under a Swiss verein structure, as JS Partners adopts the Fieldfisher brand.

Comment: Camerons double merger adds up but will it multiply?
Pity the poor pundit obliged to come up with an opinion on the obtusely-forged union of CMS Cameron McKenna, Nabarro and Olswang. Despite representing one of the largest legal mergers in the UK, taking a view on the tie-up, good, bad or indifferent is challenging, not least because the trio have so far been strikingly gnomic over the whole thing.
