Travers’ former tax head Kathleen Russ elected as senior partner successor to Chris Hale

Travers Smith has nominated former tax department head Kathleen Russ (pictured) as its new senior partner, to succeed long-serving Chris Hale whose term comes to an end 1 July 2019.

Levine bids for second managing partner term as DLA kicks off election

DLA Piper’s partnership is headed to the polls again for its managing partner election, less than a year after eight partners competed in the firm’s first contested senior partner election in a decade.

Incumbent managing partner and co-chief executive of the global giant, Simon Levine, is standing for re-election. Nominations for candidates close Friday 5 October but if nobody else stands, Levine will be re-elected on 8 October. ‘The time is right’: Ince senior partner Heuvels steps down amid job losses

Ince & Co’s senior partner Jan Heuvels has stepped down just weeks after a wave of cuts in the firm’s London office saw 32 job losses.

Veteran partner Peter Rogan, who was Ince’s senior partner between 2000 and 2008, has been named interim chairman of the firm’s board. Rogan will oversee the permanent appointment of Heuvels’ successor, in addition to the day-to-day running of the firm. Private wealth specialist Withers has re-appointed Margaret Robertson as chief executive for a fourth term following an uncontested election, meaning she will lead the firm until 2021.

Longstanding leader Robertson has overseen the rapid internationalisation of the firm from one to 17 offices and a decade of consecutive revenue growth in which Withers added almost £100m to its top line.
