The Legal 500 UK 2020 : Who tops the new rankings?
Pinsent Masons is once again the firm with the most top-tier rankings in the newly released Legal 500 UK Solicitors 2020 guide. The national leader has achieved 69 top-tier rankings across the UK and 163 rankings overall.
The haul puts it narrowly ahead of Eversheds Sutherland (66) and DLA Piper (58) for top-tier rankings, with Mills & Reeve and CMS rounding out the top five.
The same firms also score well in the overall rankings, alongside the likes of Addleshaw Goddard, Shoosmiths and Irwin Mitchell.
Looking only at the ten largest firms in the Legal Business 100 and leaving out those with a broad national coverage, Linklaters has the most top-tier rankings.
The Magic Circle firm has 35 top-tier rankings, compared with Herbert Smith Freehills on 33, and Clifford Chance and Allen & Overy on 32.
Linklaters also has the most leading individuals of any top ten London firm. The firm has 106 lawyers ranked as leading individuals in London. This puts it in fifth place looking at the UK as a whole, behind Pinsents (121), Eversheds (119), CMS (114) and DLA Piper (107).
Overall, the UK-wide rankings include more than 1,300 firms across more than 10,000 unique rankings. Some 600 of these firms are ranked in London, which includes 4,500 rankings. More than 5,500 individual lawyers are ranked across the UK as leading individuals, next generation partners or rising star associates.
