Matrix Chambers CEO Lindsay Scott to head up 39 Essex Chambers later this year

Long-serving Matrix Chambers CEO Lindsay Scott (pictured) is to join 39 Essex Chambers as its new chief executive officer, later in the year.

Scott, who has been the CEO of Matrix for 11 years, is responsible for its overall management, including developing client relationships, marketing strategy and human resources.

39 Essex Chambers heads Neil Block QC and Alison Foster QC announced the move on Wednesday (19 July), saying that Scott’s arrival will ‘enable us to continue our role as a leading international set and spearhead our drive to provide excellent, efficient service to all our clients.’

A qualified solicitor, Scott was previously the managing director of QDOS, before joining Informa plc, a FTSE 100 media and telecommunications group.

Scott was awarded the Legal 500 UK 2017 Chief Executive of the Year in 2016.

Earlier this year, 39 Essex Chambers topped appointment tables as four of their barristers – Karim Ghaly, Kate Grange, Deok Joo Rhee and Andrew Tabachnik – took silk in this year’s QC appointments.

Last year, in a rare move, Matrix Chambers hired Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s former head of insurance and reinsurance Raj Parker, as an associate member.
