Why did you want to become a private equity lawyer?
I trained at Travers Smith – I had the time of my life as a trainee and junior lawyer in the private equity team.

What has been the most memorable deal of your in-house career?
I did a lot of fun UK deals when I was younger, such as the acquisitions of Clipper Teas and Pret A Manger.

Which sectors are you expecting to drive investment this year?
I expect our private credit and infrastructure investment teams will be busy this year.

Why would you recommend a career working in private equity?
I’d recommend it for anyone interested in learning about businesses and who enjoys negotiating interesting transactions.
